About the Author — The AI-Era Engineering Playbook

Gabor Mayer is a software engineer and engineering leader with over two decades of experience building products and teams. He is a named inventor on five granted UK patents in IoT-based energy optimization for multi-occupancy buildings.

This playbook grew out of a simple observation made while running technical interviews: the things most hiring processes test are no longer the things that predict whether an engineer will be effective. AI moved the bottleneck from implementation to specification, and most of the industry hasn't caught up — on either side of the interview table.
